Pedro Arriola of Plano, joined the military not once but twice. The son of migrant workers, was just 18 when the Army sent him to Vietnam. Pedro spent two tours in Vietnam as a paratrooper. He received several medals and honors. At age 38, Pedro went back to boot camp this time training for deployment to Iraq. Today he helps older adults at a managed care center. Pedro’s family says his new smile has brought back his positive spirit and his self-esteem. |
